90 years of Western College Players:
Western College Players are 90 this year - our first celebratory production was a brilliant new version of 'THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME' in
The Drum Theatre Royal Plymouth
We then presented our community production 'WARTIME CHRISTMAS'. Unfortunately Covid 19 has put an end to the celebrations- but WCP will return as soon as it is safe to do so.

Shakespeare's birthday and the 400th anniversary on his death- by performing and working with the pupils of Tor Bridge High

A fond Farewell
A fond Farewell
We were very sorry to hear of the recent death of life member Bill Stone- a major figure in the history of Western College Players. An esteemed director, prolific theatre lover and Herald Critic - his talent and sharp wit will be missed by all who knew him
Two Sad Losses
Two Sad Losses
WCP are sad to have lost two people very dear to the company in recent months- most everybody who has been associated with the company since the eighties will have known Angela Nicholas - who alongside her parents Jill and Gerald, was a constant supporter of the company and broke down so many barriers with her participation. We have also lost one of our great friends and favourite directors the wonderful Barry Sanigar- a larger than life personality, who was loved and respected by all. They will be sorely missed, our thoughts are with their families.
RIP

Winifred Hooper:
Winifred Hooper:
We were very saddened to learn of the recent death of WCP life member Winifred Hooper. Win was our longest serving member. Her death at the grand age of 98, marks the end of an era for the company - she was dedicated to Western College Players for a great many years and will always be fondly remembered by all those who knew her. Our sympathies to her friends and family.
These pictures of Win (holding the tea cup and under the blanket!) are taken from 'Sailor Beware' - a play performed by the company on a few occasions, and probably one of the roles for which she will be best remembered!
Are you associated with a club/ charity/ organisation or school that may benefit from a visit from WCP members? Get in touch via our 'Contact page' we'd be delighted to help!
